How to upload files to server

I've run into a little problem uploading files onto a server which was setup by another party. Lately, Large files (over 10MB) have returned error messages from the server.

I tried uploading through SSH and also FTP (Win XP) - at least M$ gave me this message - can someone please translate it for me?

"An error occured copying a file to the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server.

Details:

200 Type set to I.

227 Entering Passive Mode (list my server ip in parenthesis with comma's then adds two other numbers I do not recognize).

150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for (my file)"

Holophrastic , you were right on with that analysis. BachusII , your unix wizardry has unobscured the culprit. ... Now, I've got to figure out what to do...

I must consult with my hardware tech on the inside for his recommendation.

Curious, can I reconfigure the server to upload to another Mounted memory space (there are two available with about 6.8G available (not much I fear) but at least I could get by for a little while longer...
