(...I'm a fan, yup, gotta LOVE' em!) go Red Sox, go Red Sox (do a little dance while you say this (go Red Sox, go Red Sox) *grin and giggle* too for fully pleasurable effect. go Red Sox, go Red Sox ;o)
and hedger, you are SO lucky to be in the US for Halloween! I just love Halloween - try to go out into a neighborhood (if you can) during the twilight hours on October 31. You will see a LOT of happy little children having so much fun. I think the halloween holiday is just US, but I never really researched it before - so many different customs to learn - and I am young to the world. Have a great trip. I'm so jelous you and Chris get to hang out together. I'll be thinking of you :o) ! hedger on Oct 24, 2004 at 8:01:02 AM (# 3099) This message has been edited.Wait...I asked my fellows in SFO:"will it be more expensive for hostelling in SFO in hallowween?" they only answered "Halloween is for kids".
No kidding, Robin. I dared not to ask for candies from the neighborhood since I will never know what will happen to me (I`m simply a stranger).
BTW, just seen the movie "Fahrenheit 911" tonight, and as usual, which make me both depressed and uncomfortable with lot`s things in States. Sorry.
PS. Will Chris hang out to the Catsro district? hehe.
RobinAnn on Oct 24, 2004 at 2:57:18 PM (# 3100)Oh dear. hedger! you are just supposed to observe halloween. If you have never seen the "ritual" performed - it is quite interesting. Maybe get an expresso at some outdoor cafe where you can see rows of houses and watch the kids go door to door. Even better, if you are hostelling - they will probably have "kid visitors!" You could ask to give out some of the candy. That's fun too. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll have fun.
If you did go out for candy, you could dress in costume (with makeup or a mask) and you would be treated like every other kid. Course in SanFran they might not be used to (how tall are you?) "six footers" but on the East Coast where I live kids as old as high school go out "trick-or-treating" and some of them have to be at least 6 feet tall. what's that in meters? just kidding. I could pass for a trick or treater! Anyway, you're better off not doing that. I'd say just watch all the fun. Halloween night for the kids (early) is very fun, but I'm sure there are some local costume parties going on in town (later). THAT"S A REAL PARTY.
Sorry about all the (US) crap. It's all hyped up in the movies. Tradegy is tradegy, but it's worse when it has been glamorized by Hollywood. Try not to get to down. Get a Disney flick, some SpongeBob or some Pokemon. That should lift your spirits ;) Or better yet - one of the funniest movies about the entire US in the "Cannonball Run" I think there is a little Oriental in there too ;) or maybe that's Cannonball 2. Don-don-Daaaaaaaaaa! (Him) ..! I hope you feel better soon. from, RA hedger on Oct 24, 2004 at 9:36:41 PM (# 3101) This message has been edited.hedger.offsetHeight = "185cm"; //:-)
Thanks for your sincere infomation.
I am quiet liberal politically, though I prefer free market and democracy theoretically.
Cannonball Run --> The movie acted by Mel Gibson?
I am interested in those Hippie stuff, things oriented from 70s.
Of course, the 80s is funny, too.
MHenke on Oct 25, 2004 at 2:14:25 AM (# 3102)~sigh~, I wish I could join either the San Francisco or the Glasgow party (or both... =), but no way, since I'm also lack of some trivia like time and money... 8) BikeRepairman on Oct 25, 2004 at 5:51:11 AM (# 3103)@MHenke : Another one who fails to have an appointment with the people C.Ash, D.Osh and T.
