| MHenke on May 4, 2004 at 9:50:19 AM (# 2593) You've an Ook! compiler? Could you provide a link? BachusII on May 4, 2004 at 12:03:52 PM (# 2594)It's in the download section of that link I gave http://bluesorcerer.net/esoteric/ook.html
Ook# .NET Compiler v1.0 (zip | tar)
Sadly it doesn't work on non DotNet systems. But it does contain the sourcecode for the compiler.

It's funny, I noticed the serious proliferation (almost had to look that up) of IE tech questions the same day that Chris did. Funny too that SiteExperts ranks so highly - in this ever more search engine concious web - in an area that it's not even intending to target.
My opinion has always been that the description of the IE forum could be a little less ambiguous, so, with ref to RobinAnne, we should be as courteous as possible, otherwise many people's first experience of SE could be a little obtuse through no real fault of their own.
The reason I'm repeating this sentiment is because I just had an idea, which is really in Scott's domain.
Considering this high ranking, why not turn over the IE forum to the very purpose that people seem to want to use it for ?
Maybe add a new forum for IE-specific development, making sure that its 'charter' is clearer.

Hmmm. Given a large enough script to redirect functions etc, it would presumeably be possible to write JavaScript in Klingon. I think it might be a job for someone else. Interpreting the new control structures would probably involve eval statements, and on-the-fly function compilation. Maybe the subject of the next article ? moriarty on May 4, 2004 at 3:03:08 PM (# 2596)LOL. Hey, MHenke That's the first time I've ever heard of anyone wanting to get a Google placing lower.
More seriously, a new IE-specific forum would be a good idea, then SE could get back to it's main purpose in life. Which is, of course, supporting the IT :P
Maybe MS could be convinced to sponsor an IE-only tech support forum? (More LOL) moriarty on May 4, 2004 at 3:06:08 PM (# 2597)Way kewl Ook! program btw.
Did you check out the Brainf*ck language? (link on the same page as the Ook! language definition) Now there's a syntax to get your teeth into!! BachusII on May 4, 2004 at 3:09:54 PM (# 2598)Both seem to be the same actually. I took a peek at the sourcecode for the ook.exe compiler. Ook is internally translated to brainf*ck, and then compiled. RobinAnn on May 4, 2004 at 4:39:36 PM (# 2599)"Coming soon...
Coming soon is the book titled "Ook# for dummies". "
...must be for me - what's a compliler?... (rhetorical, unless someone has a brief, non-involved, low maintenience doesn't mind answering answer)
ps. OOk oOk OoK!
