In the file MSGina.dll (c:\windows\system32\ I believe) there is a dialog screen (Dialog 2210, use reshacker) with an explanation why the system unexpectedly shut down.
On the screen in Win XP Pro where one logs in initially, there is a tiny little Easter Egg. Simply leave your computer on that screen long enough for the screensaver to come on. Then move the mouse. Look in the bottom left corner. The litte button marked "Turn of computer" now reads "Turn off Banana 2000"!
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\etc\quotes (on XP PRO systems)
Use reshacker to edit sol.exe. "String Table", "64", 1033 Look up the numbers for the strings: 1008, "Heck, I don't know" 1009, "Configure Solitaire for screen shots" 1010, "Force a win"
"Menu", 1 edit that file to resemble:
1 MENU LANGUAGE LANG_ENGLISH, SUBLANG_ENGLISH_US { POPUP "&Game" { MENUITEM "&Deal\t F2", 1000 MENUITEM SEPARATOR MENUITEM "&Undo", 1001 MENUITEM "De&ck...", 1002 MENUITEM "&Options...", 1003 MENUITEM SEPARATOR MENUITEM "E&xit", 1004 } POPUP "&Help" { MENUITEM "&Contents\t F1", 65506 MENUITEM "&Search for Help on...", 65507 MENUITEM "&How to Use Help", 65508 MENUITEM SEPARATOR MENUITEM "&About Solitaire", 2000 MENUITEM "&Egg 1", 1008 MENUITEM "&Egg 2", 1009 MENUITEM "&Egg 3", 1010 } }
Compile and save. Next time you launch solitare, open the 'help' menu. There will be 3 new options, "Egg1" "Egg2" and "Egg3". Egg 1 and 2 do nothing, but Egg 3 will let you win instantly.

RobinAnn on Apr 13, 2004 at 11:44:36 AM (# 2511)Nice hunting MHenke :) MHenke on Apr 14, 2004 at 1:18:38 AM (# 2512)You're welcome, but get me right, I havn't calculated the sequence, I've just found the website where they report from the search. But you've known that, havn't you?
BTW, I like your imagination of bad primes. Tho my mind is actually biased with "serious" mathematics, it nearly coincides with my perception... =] MHenke on Apr 14, 2004 at 1:21:46 AM (# 2513)And BachusII, it seems you've spent a long time with the reshacker!? 8) BachusII on Apr 14, 2004 at 2:40:58 AM (# 2514) This message has been edited.Great tool to mess with users.
