WWW.C. For the stockbroker or businessman for whom time means money, the new iLoo is the perfect solution. It is the world's first portable lavatory with internet access for logging on while on the bog, and it is due to be unveiled in Britain this summer.
Being built by Microsoft's internet division, MSN, the converted loo will feature a wireless keyboard, plasma screen and internet access.
"The internet is so much a part of everyday life now that surfing on the loo was the next natural step," commented MSN marketing manager Tracy Blacher. "It's exciting to think that the smallest room can now be the gateway to the massive virtual world." Or possibly a chance to earn a penny while you spend one. Frances on Mar 7, 2004 at 6:09:38 PM (# 2148)Which brings this public broadcast to an end .......... Frances on Mar 7, 2004 at 6:09:55 PM (# 2149)So why was I hunting out this cr- stuff? Frances on Mar 7, 2004 at 6:12:05 PM (# 2150)Well, on Radio 4 Tuesday or Wednesday morning the presenter gave a story about a public loo coming up for sale: I think it was in Eastbourne, but I'm not sure; and the estate agents who had the job of selling it were looking for ideas on how to promote it - you know, the usual "des res" blurb ????, and hit on the idea of launching it as a competition. Who could come up with the funniest, punniest, ad. The agents are also donating the commission to the winner's choice of charity.
Anyway, Radio 4 said they would put it on their web site, but I didn't see a link and nothing came up in the search, so I thought I would try on Google. (No luck though)
And seeing as I had to dredge through so much gunge - especially as I had no luck finding the loo in question - I thought the least I could do was to pass it on ........ ;-)
Aren't you glad I did?
Er, hellllloooooooooo ........ ?????? Frances on Mar 7, 2004 at 6:13:15 PM (# 2151)Well. don't say you don't go away from this thread uninformed ...........
