Exactly, RA. BachusII on Jul 25, 2006 at 9:59:35 AM (# 4225) This message has been edited.Feet of Clay is a book by Terry Pratchett. One of the main characters in that book is a golem, made from ceramics. At the end, he professes to not believe in any gods, and is willing to discuss this with the local priesthood. And, even willing to believe in a god whose existence can be proven by logical arguments. MHenke on Jul 26, 2006 at 12:07:33 AM (# 4226)> And, even willing to believe in a god whose existence can be proven by logical arguments. I guess it's most superflous to remark that this is quite an oxymoron, isn't it? BachusII on Jul 26, 2006 at 3:49:07 AM (# 4227)Given that there are multiple religions. What are the odds that the clergy of the different religions will be able to logically argument the existence of a god? Let alone their god, the true god as it were. I'd say approaching 1:∞. Besides it's a good point against their crushing your ceramic body using very large hammers. Alas, almost all of them aren't accessible for far too many henchmen of common religions... cdrom600 on Jul 27, 2006 at 6:55:54 PM (# 4229)Hello everybody! I haven't been posting much lately for two reasons: - I have been really, really busy. In fact, I'm working from 8 AM to 5:30 PM every weekday now. Until school starts back up. - Nothing has really grabbed my attention. I have been reading the more important threads on here (such as the IT).
I'd like to bring this discussion into the light: why do we need women?. It's a discussion about the addition of a special "Women's Forum" to the Ubuntu forums. There are many different opinions and things stated, and it makes for very interesting reading.
Also, think about other fields, such as rock music. (Some of you likely know I'm into classic rock.) Not pop, but classic rock. How many male rock stars (Alice Cooper included) come to mind immediately, and then how many female rock stars come to mind immediately? (This is interesting to me.) A few I can think of (off the top of my head): - Fleetwood Mac (lead singer) - The Pretenders (lead singer) - Janis Joplin - Stevie Nicks
I will be back. BikeRepairman on Jul 27, 2006 at 10:49:10 PM (# 4230)Heart Joan Jett Suzie Quatro Shocking blue (leada singer) Tina Turner
