You're now excused for misleading me (I can't speak for the rest of us). :)
Terry, you keep your 70, I'll get 100! (if this stupid thread gets there) motoroutes on Mar 18, 2003 at 2:46:38 AM (# 47)So Shakespeare walks into this pub, and the barman shouts "Get out, you're bard!".
Please don't hide code. Plagiarism helps most of us do our job. 8-)
Terry Young on Mar 18, 2003 at 2:54:33 AM (# 48)77 is just fine for me.

p.s. just 22 more to go!!!! Chat Noir on Mar 18, 2003 at 9:56:06 AM (# 50)What about creating your own decoder ring, I mean browser. I suggest writing a browser that handles encryption. Use your super encrypter server to send only encrypted info. User is forced to download your decoder browser to view content which is encrypted. Obviously, the browser code would have to be...??? whatever it's called uhm, Not(open source). Compiled?
So, we write our beautiful dhtml scripts and tickle the DOM and put our pages on the Super Stealth Sever Ver. 1.0 and serve them up. Only the super cool people with Super Stealth Browser Ver 1.0 can see them and nobody ever sees the source code.
I'm sure this has been done a thousand times already. Monte on Mar 18, 2003 at 10:16:24 AM (# 51)The only way I can think of for this to be even REMOTELY close to working is if there were a way for the browser to execute compiled code, without the use of a Java applet. However, do you see the security implications there? Viruses, for one.
Also, this technology is probably WAY in the future, if it's possible at all. So for now, let's just accept that you CAN'T hide code from the end user.
...First of all, I can't believe that nobody knows the way to hide source code from the user. I mean, come on, it is so easy..... (sorry, just thought that I would share my thoughts on a little known coding trick that I have picked up rather recently). I am shocked that none of you has figured it out yet.
Show us. Post a link or something. Enlighten us, Obi-Wan
Q: How many Microsoft employees does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None! They just change the standard to dark! ;-) bod1467 on Mar 18, 2003 at 1:42:30 PM (# 52)Man walks into a bar .. OUCH! he says - it was an iron bar.
Miserable horse walks into a bar and the bartender says "Hey! Why such a long face?"
Woman walks into a cocktail bar and says "I'd like a double-entendre please", so the bartender gave her one.
