...the OFFICIAL RobinAnn's Posting Style... ~ hi Mhenke - is anyone else watching? ~
Last Night I totally realized what I did... oops! (and I do not mean the /div ;)) Please check out the improvements which I corrected with last night : Sebec Lake Lodge You should see a little more content now - I hope.
Are there any other worries I might have from visitors?

WRT to the site, the first impression: It loads as slow as a snake creeps at 4°C. I'm (by now) not sure if it's a problem of the page itself or rather your ISP throwing in popups and other stuff... bod1467 on Sep 30, 2005 at 7:37:34 AM (# 10)What popups? (Yay for Firefox. :-)
If I resize my browser window to 800 x 600 then I have two lots of scrollbars to contend with - main window vertical scrollbar and frame vertical scrollbar = not nice.
General opinion? If I didn't know better I would almost think I was looking at a Google page. :-S MHenke on Sep 30, 2005 at 7:48:20 AM (# 11) This message has been edited.> What popups? (Yay for Firefox. :-) Yay too, I block them even in IE, but they're nevertheless there, and I'm not sure if they boost the performance. RobinAnn on Sep 30, 2005 at 8:47:03 AM (# 12)

Lots of troubleshooting here: Sebec Lake Lodge
O.K. - I really have no idea whatpop ups you are getting. My ISP is me - so I don't know where they are coming from. I'm going to shut off my ie pop-up blocker to see if I can see any. WRT the slowness - what do you suppose is causing it, and how can I fix that?
bod1467 : I set the code for the DIV holding all the information to just under 800px - I 'spose ppl running an 800 wide screen will have some sort of side menu in thier browser that they will have to shut off to view this website - A chance I'm willing to take (this site is geared towards high end users running larger screen monitors and also people with little to NO web experience.) Sounds a bit strange, but I have no fear of pissing anyone off with 800px full of content. Except maybe my web-developing friends ;-)
My main concern is all the content that is there, gets loaded, and quickly. The main page has the javascript code (provided by hedger) with a small amount of images (I probably could trim those down a bit) - then there is the logo (probably also a bit overweight) and the weather iframe (hmmm, seems small enough) - A couple other relatively small images and the text - what's taking so long?
I remember hedger talking recently about a script which load all the content prior to running any scripts. Would that help this page?
BachusII on Sep 30, 2005 at 9:04:52 AM (# 13)What is the correct IP? Maybe the DNS hasn't propagated fully yet. MHenke on Sep 30, 2005 at 9:06:03 AM (# 14)I'm sorry, I'm going off-line now. If there's an issue remaining, I'll have a look at it on monday (tho I'm quite sure it's not necessary and some other SE peers will win all the fame... 8).
