We give Stupid Prizes to Smart People

Hello All,

I just created a new site, http://www.community-credit.com, and I would like to get everybody's opinion and/or critique of.  I am not sure if this is the best place, but I would also like to invite folks to check it out.  It is a rather unique concept where we reward people for contributing to the development community by doing things like Answering questions in discussion forums, blogging, writing articles, posting examples and others.  The prizes that we give out are a bit "unusual"  (USB Lava Lamp, Red Swingline Stapler, etc) and you can see them here      Let me know what you think about the site design and the concept overall.  It is a fun concept and since this is a very active discussion board with some very sharp folks, I would like to see what kind of interest there is in the development community.  Thanks, in advance.

     Thanks,

          David Silverlight [MVP-XML]

I'm surprised (and a little disappointed) you didn't get the reference.

Hey Robin Ann,  I just submitted your SiteExpert Posts from January and you are now in the running. :)  I wasn't sure of other contributions of yours, but if you have made any other cool developer community submissions of any type in January, let me know.  If the contest ended today, you would have yourself a Red Swingline Stapler and a cool certificate!   Currently, there is no password or user account, but it is coming soon.  Right now, you simply log points.  I will be setting up a discussion board next week once the next Release Candidate of Community Server is out.  I really like the new version of their forum.  It will be an enhanced/updated version of the one found on http://www.asp.net  I will also be sending out a newsletter each month that will be a combination of:  a) Twisted computer humor b) a reminder to log your points and c) A highlight of some contributions.

MHenke I love the Klingon Pain Stick idea. I can't find a place to buy one, but I would love to if you should know of any sites that sell them.  I can think of so many instances where this would become a very useful tool.

Jack Turk: For an extra-terrestrial fan,  I just came across the Rocketmen: Axis of Evil Game   "Set in the not-too-distant future and styled after the space buccaneers from b/w serials and old comic books, Axis of Evil is a faced paced space battle for your table top. Choose your factions, build your fleets, and launch an all out war: either to free the Solar System from an evil consortium of tyrants, or to enslave all peoples and planets that stand in your way."

The other one, mentioned earlier, but worth a second mention is the Location Earth Dog tag

A gap in the market, apparently. I guess a trip to Qo'noS would go beyond the financial scope!?
