 Page design opinions

Hello,

I would like to get some feedback on a page design (intended for the front page of a photography website). I'm interested in things like whether the image display transitions work properly for you, along with any other observations. For example, do the pictures look right?

Best regards

The back-button-breaking home-page redirect is somewhat annoying, but I suppose that's your host's fault. Image xition works well in FF and IE (6.0.2); I especially like the reverse-direction slide for "previous" images as opposed to "next." I would suggest moving the image controls away from the (presumably?) navigational links at the top, possibly even turning them into buttons or graphics -- so they don't read as navigation. Otherwise, the user might assume that s/he can move around the pictures with the browser's Back and Forward controls. A couple of arrow buttons, under the picture, might work best.

The idea is nice, but the CPU activity can cause some really choppy transitions with the images. FF is choppy, IE was smoother. Flash would be good for this effect.

Following ARWolff's suggestion I modified the picture controls, to try to avoid confusion with page-to-page navigation (which I plan to put in the horiizontal bar below the heading).

Thank you both for your comments.
