These are "is", not "was". This "is" the technology. How they are used defines what's current.
Not a favorite site, but a new way of design is in mind. I think the goals for this decade are to use flash properly. That is, get rid of the flickering, the glitz, and the overused beginner effects - ooo look, snow! Use it to manage the site's content, much like HTML, integrated properly with HTML and JS, and take advantage of its offerings. Incorporate AJAX (or flash's loadvars) to create seamless interfaces. Get rid of annoying pages that scroll down to the center of the earth. What do all sites have in common? boring flat 2-d layouts - 3d buttons? no- cheap gradient effects that sit on 2d pages. Lets introduce a real third dimension. The technology is there. (The programmers obviously aren't). Stand out and be unique - or your site will just end up on the pile of ho-hum sites the rest of the world has created a million times over. Pick up a paintbrush and draw a happy face and yell "look what I did!" or, step back, think, invent, and realize your unique creation. It takes longer, but it will take you more places in the end. mindsmack on Mar 30, 2007 at 12:05:08 PM (# 3) This message has been edited.my personal favorite websites are:
