Rules of the game
- Objective
- To move all cards to the foundations.
- Layout
-
Four Foundation piles, initially empty. Start building by moving any card to the
empty foundation, then build up in suit, wrapping around from Ace to King
if necessary. Once you choose a card as the bottom-most card of a foundation,
all other foundations will only accept that card as their bottom-most card.
i.e. if you play the ten of Spades on a particular foundation, you may only play
Jack of Spades on that foundation, then Queen, King, Ace, Two ...all the way to
Nine of Spades. Similarly, all the remaining foundations will only accept
10 of their respective suit as the bottom-most card.
Ten Tableau piles, the first two are dealt 6 face-up cards, while the remaining
get 5 face-up cards. Cards can be played onto the tableaux
if they are either one rank below or one rank above and the same suit (BOTH WAYS IN SUIT)
of the topmost card of the pile, i.e. if the topmost card is 10 of Spades, then
either 9 of Spades or Jack of Spades can be played on that pile. Only
the top card of a Tableau may be moved. Double-clicking the topmost
card of a tableau pile will send it to the foundation. This is a shortcut
for the sometimes tedious drag-and-drop. An empty tableau may be
filled by playing any card onto it.
- Tips
-
This is a more strategic version of Fortress, since you can choose any card
as the base of the foundations (In Fortress you can only play Ace on an
empty foundation). It is slightly easier to win than Fortress.
