This is a very handy navigational control which allows different categories with (graphical) options to be selected and displayed in a compact space.

This is very good. I have a few suggestions though.

1) Add a "cursor:hand" line to the style declaration.
2) Add the sliding behavior. The real thing slides up and down.
3) Instead of using regular Hex values for the colors, use color:buttonface. Color:buttonface instead of Color:#CCCCCC is more flexible, because it mimics the actual color of a button. If someone wants their buttons in red, color:buttonface will give them the red color in the button face.

4) Make the icons pop out when the mouse is over them, and pop in when the mouse is down on them.

Other then that, great job. But you are not the first to have an outlook bar...
