I definitely got some good info out of this, but the method failed me when I tried to use it to place a menu bar on each page... it created more space then I wanted for the menu when nothing was selected, and not enough space when you opened up a menu... I got around the problem without using the menu bar as an object, but when/if I add a toolbar across the site I'll definitely be referencing this again.
